    traction control/ abs light

    Hi guys,

My traction control/ abs light comes on intermitantly when driving. it comes on when you strat the car as normal but then every now and again the two come on and stop on for 15mins e.g on my way to work. Has anyone experienced this problem or know of a resolution.
Could this be an oil leek, worn pads/ discs? ive just had the offside wheel bearing renewed? could this be the cause

    Appreciate any assistance

    Many thanks

    Mark

check the electrical connector on the wheel bearing fitted - it may be loose and only making a partial connection

failing that go round all 4 of them and unplug the connections, clean with wd40 and refit

if this doesnt work youll need a plug in diagnostic session - preferrably a pukka tech2 at Vauxhall or similar to diagnose the exact fault

take the wheel off - or better still just turn it on full lock so u can see

its common sense as theres only 1 elec connector going to the hubs

I've got the same problem with my Coupe.
Traction Control and ABS light comes on. The Op-Com says "left front abs-sensor open circuit" or similar meaning either what Georgie says: It's the electrical connector being loose, or the sensor itself has gone to pieces.
Cheapest way is trying out Georgie's advice first
