Fitting intercooler to my sri turbo info please

Hello guys need a little info ive got a 2.2sri hatchback but now a z20let looked at the front and all looks well for a front mount apart from that massive fan

Is that a aircon fan, do i get a small fan to get around this??

Still using the 2,2 sri imersher bumper if that makes a difference

    Anything need pushing back??

I know tx do a complete package but im going to buy all the bits seprete as i can do it cheaper that way.

What is the pipe in the tx pic with the sensor bit map sensor maybe?, may need to order that from them?

All help would be great thanks guys

    1. Yes it's an aircon fan, TX kits do away with this and replace it with two smaller units which are about 7" I think.

    2. Ideally if you space the radiator and aircon radiator back, you can use VXR Astra lower mounts, turn the rubber insert round and this will move it back about 20mm, space the top out with washers/bolts/wherever you have.

    3. The top elbow has a mount point for the MAP sensor, you need this and I dear say TX will supply said part seperately.

Brillant what do you mean about using the vxr stuff is this a must as i would have thought it would be hard to get hold off.

And what does the part actually do

Is it lower mounts for the rad?

Yes, it just two small flat brackets that bolt to the subframe and the radiator pack then sits in it. The VXR version means you can take out the rubber insert and turn it 180deg, this means the radiators then sit about 20mm further back and help give you more space from the intercooler to sit.

You could get the brackets from Vauxhall for a few quid or alternatively if you're handy with small flat bar, a drill and a grinder then you could fabricate yourself a set of brackets from scratch.

to move the bottom of the rad back i just unbolted the two brackets mensioned about (remove 4 bolts) and then re bolt it but put the front holes on the brackets in the back holes on teh sub frame and this also gives you about 20mm extra

Does your aircon work, or are you keeping it...? If not, bin it and do away with the fans and radiator. If it does work then yes, two fans are better as they are considerably smaller than the original one so come summer (?) two smaller fans are probably more capable of keeping things cool.
