Red DTUK, is it good for my car???

I have an astral 1.9D and put a red duck box in it. Ever since I did that I had problems. First my gear box went; can the gear box handle the torque???? i had to change my clutch and flywheel too..
    cost Just over £3.000
Then the EGR had to be replaced because if you dont set the box correctly, you will get alot of black smoke and it will clog up ur egr valve. Then the turbo had to be replaced, can the turbo handle the torque???
It is my astra or do you think the box has something to do with it.
I love the box, It does give extra miles to the tank and more power but is it good for the car???
I have the Red box set to 11.

Dude dont worry whether the box is good for your car... its fine. Turn the dial down a little to a different map. You won't really notice too much differnece in power and mgp but it will stop the smoking... Just choose a different map and then run it for a couple of days and if it still smokes adjust again.... I have heard mixed reports about tuning boxes and remaps.

You stick all this extra power and torque through the engine, gearbox, turbo etc. its going to wear the parts much quicker.

Thats why I changed my mind about the extra power.

dont use them!! re mapping by companies that specialise in it is the only way to improve your performance and even these may harm your car in one way or another. leave it alone or buy a quicker one as standard

what about the boxes that only produce 30 bhp as aposed to 50 bhp not going to name any brands. would'nt they be better in the sence as they are not squeezing as much from your car .the more you ask the quicker your going to kill it .

its mainly the driver tho. if you drive a std car hard you will kill it faster than a remaped or boxed car thats be driven in a normal maner
    astra cdti 202bhp 323 lb-ft torque 45mpg

alen i disagree if your raggin an sri 150 all the time , yeah your going to reck it in the long run . but if your raggin an sri 150 thats been converted to 200bhp then surely your taking alot more from the engine gearbox clutch ect i could go on . I do think driving style will have an effect on the longevity of a car,but if you've got a boxed or mapped car your not exactly going to drive it like miss daisy, thats the point of having a tuned car is'nt it..
