New rear beam fitted, Disc brakes too!

Some of you may be aware that I suffered abit of bad luck recently. In that an unknown person had crashed into my car, damaging it and drove off leaving no Insurance details etc.

It damaged the back door, badly and also the rear beam or an associated part on it. So I decided to replace the rear beam with one from a 1.6 16V Astra sport (Mk3 obviously) This cost £50 second hand, with all pipes, cables and the flexies etc. Last night dropped the car off at a local garage. Altough it might have been a job I could have done myself, it would have taken alot longer, due to the poor location I have to work in.

£100 was charged to fit the beam, by a local backstreet garage with a very good reputation, for good work and not over the top prices

    and with it fitted

Next thing to do is try and see about getting this rust patch sorted out ASAP. The hammerite didnt work so well, so looks like I am gonna have to clean it up best I can, put more hammerite around it untill i can get the car into a bodyshop
Probably the ONLY Astra Mk3 sitting on Corsa D SXI rims!
And Now a Diesel on Discs all round!

Tell me about it! It's got worse since the accident happened, its knocked some of it off. So gonna have to get the car down the bodyshop asap. But I'm supposed to be going on holiday and with it all its eating into spending money and such. I've emailed one place, just waiting for a reply. for the work only, as I think I can finish it off myself
