gearbox problem, is all hope lost?

changing down into second i heard an almighty crunch, it will no longer select second gear and the gearbox itself sounds like its throwing around a few loose cogs, im not clued up on gearboxes but am guessing mines shagged!

im hoping i can replace the cog for second or is it a new gearbox job, if so how much am i looking at paying for a new one?

stripping and rebuilding the box can be a costly and time consuming job, why not try the breakers yards for a decent 2nd hand unit if you are on a budget.
