    what engine

    what engines in a mk4 astra 1.6 16v twinport.

    i'm lookin at gettin some cams but just not sure what it is i did loojk up a while ago and found it hard to get parts for my engine if it was right

    thought it was somethin like that but like i said i found it hard to find cams and that (what i can remember) or was i dreaming lol

    i have the same engine, pretty quick for a 1.6 i was looking for cams before but they seem expensive for what they are.. im thinking of doing an engine transplant this year instead. looked at your car autobiography, nice car mate

    ye quick for 1.6 but not quick enough for me lol. thought the parts were expensive

    anyone now where i can get parts cans and engine parts for this engine looked for a while and can't seem to find anything ? :S

    Try Piper, might need to ask them though. Regrinds are £195, or two new cams for £390. Unless you've done it, you'd be better off starting with some inlet improvements and a straight through catback exhaust system, then consider cams, then a remap.

    as in inlet manifold i'm just tryin to get a quote for everything just now and get the whole lot at once

    Perhaps the manifold, but you lose the twin-port then I think? Intake pipework to the airbox initially.

    Is the engine in the mk5 1.6 club the same engine code? It is the 16v Ecotec. Excuse the question as I know it sounds like a dumb one. I'm just guessing that the difference between it and the Twinport is the exhaust manifold? Sorry for jacking your thread as well.
    I drive a Combo van for work and we have a Mk4 1.4 16v LS (which is currently broken) and a Mk5 1.6 16v Club (which we just got to replace the Mk4)
