    CD player - tripping out

Just bought a 2001 astra SRi,
It came with a full sound system which consists of sony components in the front,
clarion 6X9s in the back panels and the parcel shelf,
a alpine type R sub with a sony Xplod amp
and an Alpine headunit, on the bass notes all the lights on the headunit dim and eventually it trips out, and thats not even being played loud, you can still have a conversation over the music put it that way,
what do you think could be causing this?
    thanks in advance,
    Jack

What way are the rear speakers powered?
Are they all connected to the head unit or does one set go to the amp?
If they are all connected to the head unit, it is being overloaded. It's not designed to run two sets of speakers on the rear outputs.
