    Pot-Hole

Last night I was driving along when i hit a pot-hole. It was about 2 inch's deep.
It has bent the rim and now the wheel is unusable.
Can I claim off my local council for the cost of a new alloy?

Only if the hole has been reported over a week ago. Best thing to do is get a mate to report the pot hole, then wait a week, and if it hasn't been filled in then the council will pay.

If it's not been reported, you'll get naff all I'm afraid. Good news is, due to the recent snow and ice, there's been a lot of cracks in the road turn to potholes so the council may be too busy filling other ones in to do the one that got you

i for one is getting really annoyed avoiding holes in every single road when im driving - the council here have started to fill some holes , but the cold came back and a week later the replacment tarmac has now sank and broken up again - the middle of the roads resembles the kitty litter from silverstone

driving around the roads im looking like a drunk driver trying to avoid everything

I went through this last year, except the pothole was a good 6 inches deep

Report it to the council, they will reply within 2-3 days, requesting your vehicle details, insurance policy, the policy type, the modifications, the make of the wheel and model and tyre

It may be different with your council but this is what Shropshire country council did for me
