2.2 engine is a good lump to tune or but so is z20 depends on money as z20 will cost more on running side and in parts compared to z22

its only worth doing if your ok with the costs involved like the running cost and informing the insurance ect as if you get caught with a swapped engine and not done the police crack down hard
i had the same dilema with my old corsa i needed a new engine as the head gasket went and afterall i decided to get the same sixe engine fitted as the cost of gettin a bigger engine were to much

the VXR engine into a H would be ok to do. Straight swap and if the looms are swapped too the wiring will be relatively easy as its all plug and play.

The z20let would give you a few headaches when it came to wiring. The mk5 uses canbus wiring where as the zlet and mk4 doesnt so it would probably need to use a z20leh engine loom and sensors to get it all to run properly but not too sure on it. Id stick with the leh as at the end of they day its the one thats supposed to be in the car
It would definitely go better with an engine in it
