    Question 2.2 Air box mod

Can some tell me if this is really worth doing? Is there any proven gains by doin this? I realise that the cdti would possibly be betta but i've got a mk4 2.2 airbox in the shed so i'd wanna use that if it was worth doing. Also does it make the induction alot louder, because i don't really want this. Any feed back would be great, thanx in advance!

makes as much difference as an enclosed induction kit, as long as you put a decent filter in and derestrict it.

doesnt make much more induction noise, just a very faint turbo hiss and slight throaty grunt at full load which sounds cool

worth doing, plus the engine bay looks better without the crossover.

agree with above! plus as the air going into the turbo is cooler,ie no cross over then the engine will feel a bit crisper..

My car with the 2.2 box.

I used the standard pipe work that came with the car.

As for wiring some people do not have to lengthen the wires. But i did so I could gide the wires down the inner wing
