sounds dodgy to me! your not covered when you pay under 'gift' option. tell him you'll only pay the normal paypal way and see what he says. at least you're covered even if he isn't dodgy

Hi the seller is more than likely trying to avoid paying ebay fees(i dont blame him/her), best way is to offer a little more to cover the ebay fees(ask ) and ask them to either relist or place a buy it now at the agrred price, that way the transaction is covered by ebay but definatly pay through paypal, Good communication is the key, and scan the sellers feedback,THERE IS NO REASON WHY THE SELLER SHOULD REFUSE YOUR OFFER, afterall they are not going to loose out. Try to contact via phone, and go by your gut feeling. BUT if you go with the original deal you wont have any combaks, deals behind ebay can be very dodgy, and worrying for the buyer, the only way is for the buyer to collect( cod.) done it, read the book, etc
Hope this helps, Alternativly let the auction run, and you could end up getting it very cheaply. I buy and sell parts on ebay often, and an experienced seller knows about the price the item will fetch, and more often than you think a seller is (CAUGHT OUT) in other words let the item go for a song, ihad done this recently and sold to auction a pair of brill z20let cams, lots of interest but went for 99p.
ANYWAY you make your mind up, But bear in mind whilst there are great deals to be made on ebay, you always get the -ankers, regards PAULA

place a bid and get the seller to end the auction to the highest bidder, then he can add any outstanding costs onto the postage and he wont get fees for that

type f uking properly you halfwit.
    2 should be to
    4 should be for
It's not that hard to type is it.

He can request money via paypal with your email address and do it that way.
Beware though that if you do it via 'gift' you have no protection from paypal if you dont receive anything.

Hating text talking since texting was invented! Takes me twice as long to read the posts sometime!!

With ebay, also do the safe way with paypal and ensure that you are protected, or if hes local could do a collection?
Disclaimer - some of the above text may actually be sarcasm (believe it or not!)

Why would you even consider sending him money as a gift? if you send it as a gift, thats what it is. Don't expect anything in return, and don't expect Paypal to offer you any help.

You say this... but we still had to close our wanted forum despite all advice.

Paypal and ebay offer enough advice on this subject. Don't try and bypass the system just to save a couple of quid.
