Coupe with 225/40/18's (Pics of new alloys)

    hey people,

new alloys arrived today, they came with 225/40/18 tyres off a zaf, now they go on fine, no rubbing or anything i was just wondering if anyone had run this tyre size with any kind of drop at all and what it was like?
I think it could rub if it were dropped 40mm due to the width of the tyre.

I havent removed the arch lining yet but have no problem doing so if it means i could get the neccessary drop.

Mine rub like hell and the car is only dropped 30mm, even with just me in it they rub. I have the arches rolled and they still rub.

Tom, daft question I know, but is your car a coupe as well?

The coupe has a larger wheel arch than a hatchback.

I will be looking for a similar package for mine at some point.

Yeah my car is a coupe, 1.8 16v. I bought some 18's with 225 40 18 on and i had to change then almost straight away.

Even with the arches rolled i could only have a maximum of 2 people in the car otherwise it rubbed like mad.
Without the arches rolled it used to catch and rip huge chunks out of my tyres.

215 35 18 are deffo needed, they dont touch atall now even with 4 people in the car and a full boot.
