Smile Money and Standards of cars that get featured?

Before anyone goes off on one, there is always exceptions

    However in general,

How much do you think people are spending to get their car on the cover of a magazine? Also what standard do you expect the car to be in real life? Perfect, more or less perfect, Ok, nothing special etc etc.

Or same question for any feature of a car in a magazine?

For mags like Total Vauxhall, Fast Car, Fast Ford, Ultimate BMW, Max Power, etc etc etc

I am just intrigued by peoples perceptions of the cars that get put in print nothing more

Im not sure how much people spend but id say its at least 5 figures.

Id also expect the car to be near perfect condition inside and out.

I don't read these magazines anymore, but I am more than aware that a car can look pristine in photo's but tacky and messy in real life (mine's a prime example!).

I'd not expect a fortune to be spent on all feature cars - there will be some which are simply unique with little outlay, others which have had thousands spent but are still as original.

To me, a feature car should offer something a little different to the norm., something to inspire others and show what can be done.

TBH i think the standard is very low on alot of the cars that get featured, there are some very high standard ones out there but few and far between.

I have found when you see the car in the flesh they are not usually as good as they are made out or look when they are featured by far.

Money wise, it doesnt matter as it depends how handy you are your self and who else you know in the buisness to help you out with cheaper work etc.

I think it depends on the mag too... some of them set the bar lower/higher than others

I think the standard required for features in Total Vauxhall seems to have dropped and dropped. It seems any man and his dog can get his car featured now

I do think it's spending loads of money and working long hours on a car for a one day feature..... In other words a little bit of fame and then all goes down hill or they then sell it. Aslong as a cars clean, and Maybe used everyday and has subtle changes or is just a car that really makes you appreciate it then yeah I think the owner deserves a feature, some people with more money than sense talk on a different level to what a person with not alot to spend would find it hard to grasp ....... If you know what I mean?? Lol
