    Sub Boxes

    Im trying to find some cube sub boxes not the usually ones with the sloping backs has anybody come across any ?

    Make your own, will be much cheaper. I think theres a post on here with a tutorial, if not shouldnt be too hard to find one.

    It's easy enough, but there can be more to it than just making a 'box' to get the best sound. Thick MDF, lots of screws, some glue, a wiring terminal for the speaker connection and some carpet to cover it with.

    It may not be that much cheaper than buying one to be honest, but you do get something custom

    i already have sum 18mm mdf its just working out how big i would have to make the box to get the best out of my subs

    Cube boxes aren't always the best idea, they can suffer from internal reflections & cancellations as the faces are all parallel to each other.
    Main thing to get right with any box is the size, this will vary between different subs. Best to check for the manufacturers recommended size for the particular model of sub.

    I often wondered why boxes were made with angled backs and not just a cube.

    maybe it would be easier to get 2 angled boxes and make a frame for them to sit in so they sit flat to the mdf boot floor.
