wouldnt make a difference. you need to put a one way valve in the o.e dump valve line, or a spacer inside the o.e dump valve.

do a search, there is loads on this subject.

dont fit the spacer whatever u do!!!!

you can certainly fit a one way valve to essentially disable the original recirculating valve but in all honesty, even when still functioning as it should, the aftermarket DV should still be quite audible!

    What type u running?

Bailleys arent very loud in comparison to the Collins one for instance

may want to check the vacuum hoses etc

I had a spacer fitted to mine when I bought it, took it out and left the Baileys on too.

It is still loud and it picks up alot better without the dodgy bodging spacer.

Fit a one way valve, or go one better and buy a collins...

yeah i have a baileys one, i might go for the colins one as im not sure what u mean by one way valve, ive been thinking of getting a venturi dv36-d dump valve instead too

can i ask why not fit the spacer? i dont have one fitted or intend to just that years ago when i had my gsi i bought a bailey dv with fitting kit and it came with the spacer so had it fitted, i didnt notice any ill effects from doing so.

just to add bailey was quiet when i had one even with the the oe one disabled

I'm changing the turbo on my gsi and some people have talked about leaving the spacer in, is this the insert u exchange for the spring in the turbo? Should i leave the spring in my new turbo or refit the spacer to my new turbo before fitting it? Anyone know?

id leave the spring in the new turbo and just fit a one way valve if you want to disable the oe dump valve
