    Inspection light

on my dash I have a inspection light showing when I switch ignition on, the car has been sat up for a while, and the battery was disconnected for a week or so.

i never had it while i was using the car, but its there now i havent been using it. how do i get rid of it?

oh it shows up on the clocks, before it displays the mileage.

It usually means your car is due a service.

    u mean "INSP" yeah?

If so just press the mileage reset button, keep it pressed and insert keys and turn to ignition, dont start, leave for about 5 seconds then release

should change from INSP to ----- then return to normal mileage

it wont reappear for another 10/15/20,000 miles or so when the preset service interval is reached. doin the above procedure at any point in time restarts the period again

*** just to clarify... IT DOES NOT MEAN A SERVICE IS DUE!!!! ****

It just means *as above* that the prescribed interval has been reached since the last time it was reset

Bit off topic but you can program your own service intervals using Op-Com, I've set mine for every 3k.

You can even turn it off on there by putting the interval to like 50,000 miles.

But as GeordieBandit said, that's the best way to get rid of it.
