    cam timing ...

    hi , having trouble timing my gm 1.7td van , the cam timing is a bitch , am i right in thinking when 1 and 4 are closed thats tdc?

    Hi van,

    I guess you have some set of instructions? Haynes or whatever...

    I've never messed with the timing but I was looking at info for 1st cylinder TDC and it shows a picture of the cam lobe closest to the cambelt cover (the 1st cylinder exhaust cam) pointing straight up, if that's any help...

    (based on info for my 1996 X17DTL)
