    Trying to track information Down...

As above really, I'm not sure if anyone can help.

    I've bought an astra, Mk4.
Its getting on, Its a 2000 W Plate.

I Ran an HPi check and so on, and all of what i have ties up nicely, however i have no service books / Owners manual or History, Just the current MOT, and the old one.

I've bought the Handbooks and so on from one at a local scrappy, which are fine.

Basically, I'm trying to trace where the car was Purchased from new, so i can track down any History, and possibly get the books re-stamped by a dealer and so forth.. and also, to see what work has been done, what hasn't, and so on.

Next up is to contact the DVLA and get all names and addresses of owners and so on, but is there anything else i can do?

Also, Is there a way of obtaining all Previous (Electronic ones at least), MOT Certificates? Do i have to pay the £10 each for them and so on?

    Cheers
    David

P.s - I know its an old car and may not be worth it, Its just nice to have some history, also helps with re-sale value, and if its genuine, it looks very good on the car.

    Heres my 2 pence

    http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/internet/jsp/ECSID-Internet-Status-Request.jsp

you'll need the V5 Document reference number and the reg number.

should give you most of its MOT history :-)

    Hope this helps....

    P.S. its free!

Thanks mate, Yeah i've been on there..

Got the history, / Tied it all up atleast.

Nothing beats selling a car with as many MOT's as possible though!...

Its no problem, I Can soon print that off anyway to prove it all..

    Thanks mate
