Personally I do as little miles as possible on the fuel warning light as ass the crap that is in the bottom of the fuel tank gets dagged through the fuel lines and injectors.

I would say that you can get about 20-30 miles, though have managed 50 miles on the warning light, but its not recomended.

Yeah was on a mega econmical effect as was on way home and nearest fuel station was miles away so had to more or less run on fumes.

The last think you want to be doing is running out of fuel anyway, as mentioned all the dregs of fuel get dragged through the system causing poor running conditions for the engine.....

Just something worth mentioning: When it's cold outside it's good to have a full tank of petrol/diesel. If you got an empty tank, condensation will appear and water will blend into the petrol/diesel <- Not good

i top my up every thursday without fail as thats when i get paid. doesn't matter how full it is, its always topped up. most of the time it never goes below 1/4.

You can apparently get up to 40miles when its in red but i wouldn't advise it!

I'm in agreement with the above post,
As soon as I get to 1/4 or just below 1/4 I always end up re-fueling.

However saying this, I have a friend who has a honda s2000 and runs it constantly without more than a tenner's worth of fuel. Complete idiot imo lol

Surely fuel is taken from the bottom of the tank all the time anyway?
