Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

vxr turbo allows you to hold more boost as the zlet turbo cant handle it, but you need a map to get the gains.

    as this man has said

get if you dont already have-
    cdti conversion
    vxr turbo
    vxr injectors
    turbo back exhaust system
    large top hat
    Front Mount Intercooler
    Live remap

and you will see around 290/300bhp

VXR turbo is exactly the same as a GSi turbo, the VXR as replaced/superseaded the GSi turbo... The difference is better internals as vauxhall realised that the GSi turbo as weak internal as goes faulty all the time. Thats it. However if you put a VXR turbo on and also have upgrades as the guys stated above you will see good power gains!!!

fairly sure its just a common misconception that the VXR turbo replaced the original Mk4 turbo...

both are still readily available from Vauxhall - theres just a difference of £200 or thereabouts which is why most ppl opt for the VXR unit over the LET one.

Both are essentially shite though but guess it all boils down to who fitted them in the first place etc together with what setup you're running etc.

If you're fitting a VXR unit Id strongly suggest you fit a restrictor bolt when doing so.
