    Advice Wanted

Just after some advice, wondering what you would do in the same situation. My other half has a Renault Clio on a 2000 plate with 130,000 on the clock. The gearbox has gone, with the cost of replacing the box and the amount of work involved would you replace the box or take into account the mileage and break the car.

Bin it. A Clio at that mileage is just going to be a money pit.

Petrol would be better as it ignites at lower temperature

As above, send it to the scrappies and look for a decent car. The second hand car market is awash with decent bargains atm!!

I am his other half, I kind of agree with what you're saying. Not too keen on what Spidercoupe and gazTD have said but I do get what you mean. I don't really want to sell it but, if you lot think that's best then there probably isn't much choice in getting it repaired. Found out from my dad that the power sterring fluid and the drive shaft has gone as well.
Oh well, AutoTrader it is then
