Angry Vibration in steering wheel above 60mph

    Hi,

Looking for a bit of help to sort out a problem I am having since having 2 new front tyres fitted 3 weeks ago.

Whenever the car travels above 60mph a noticeable and very annoying vibration occurs which after 3 re-balances has not been resolved, The last being done this afternoon at Kwik Fit in Paisley.

I have read elsewhere that most garages will balance one side of the wheel, so I am unsure if this is the case and I need to find somewhere that will balance the both sides. The vibration was never there before so I am almost certain none of the wheels are buckled or wear in any rod ends etc.

It is seriously doing my head in, HELP!!!!

I was thinking of getting this done but just found it strange that the vibration only started when the new tyres went on, also the extra cost of having tracking done which is putting me off a little too

ask them to replace the tyres as they could well be poor casings that will not finely balance

Get them rebalanced, I would guess they have just been badly done, had occasion where mine have been re-checked 3 times before I was happy.

If all else fails - Not wishing to cause upset but cheap tyres tend to have poor radial run out making them balanced but un round, you will need the tyres matching to the wheels to reduce R.F.V if you can find a garage who can do this have the tyres moved on the wheel 180 degrees and then rebalanced

dont use kwik-fit they are a bunch of cowboys with some very poorly trained fitters

last time i went there a ball joint ended up costing a drive shaft and new hub they burst the cv boot and ****ed the wheel bearing by overheating the ball joint then stuck it back together said nothing then hour later blamed me
