Due to a measure up I am now considering the Samsung 40'' LED tv.
Its a lot more money than I wanted to spedn but in the long run it may turn out to be cheaper. My neighbour has just fitted his TV to his chimney we have very similar houses (almost identical but my chimney is wider for some reason). His looks great apart from it sits too far off the wall for me. With the bracket on which is a tilt up and down one (so not massive) it sits a good 4 maybe 5'' of the wall.
So my theroy was to recess the TV into the chinmey (we dont have a fire and its blocked off on the roof) sothat it sat flush with the wall. This would mean a cost not massive but around £300 with the support and plasting etc. So If I used that money to go towards an LED screen (much thinner) it may mean we dont have to do any alterations to the chimney.
So my questions are?
Are these TV's any good?
Has anyone seen them hung on the wall?
Can you get better brackets that sit flusher?
Anything else that I have not thought about?
Any alternative TV's that use LED for the £1000 price tag of the samsung?
Anything that needs to be thought about if going on the wall?
TV in question:
Usage will be:
Sky HD box
PS3 - so blue ray, games and internet
Camcorder and digital camera - I am sure Sarah will use this function
We have surround sound processer already
Thanks for any thoughts or info
