my astra coupe 1.8i has like no power.

as above guys...when im driving their is not that much power when i put my foot down...yes i know its not a turbo lol but its not like before.

i justed popped the hood and checked my panel filter and found it was really wet for some reason, could that be the reason why?...the air can't get though. well i took it out and put it under my heater for abit to dry it out. do you think that is the problem or something else?

my car is a astra coupe 1.8i (2002) don't have a clue what engine i think its a x something.

change the filter and check the bottom of the air box (with the filter out) if the drain holes are clear ,as well the intake pipe check for debris dead leafs which may help the water in

May as well at the very least check the throttle body. See if it's caked in crap or clean

Even if it is the filter, i'd still at least check the TB whilst you've got the bonnet up, especially if you never have.

IIRC i used a 7 or 8mm socket to undo the jubilee clip & lifted the piping off to have a look. First time i did this it was brown in there.

I did a how to on this with detailed pics if you're not sure. As you've a 2002 1.8 & mine's a 2001 1.8, i'm assuming the process would be exactly the same.

IIRC there is a guide in the how-to

I'm a know-nothing when it comes to cars so i needed a more detailed guide, which is why i did the one that i did - for other members like me who know absolutley sod all.

You may as well take it off though tbf. I was having bother & cleaned it whilst on the car. It sorted it for a few week but the bother came back. It LOOKED clean from the first cleaning i gave it, but when i then took it off to give it a good scrub (including plastic piping), it can't have been clean as that sorted the problem out straight away. That was about 5 months ago now

    the guide i did: http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/sh...d.php?t=213566
