    Boost Problems?

Hi , fairly new to all this and the engine so bear with me....

problem is when your driving 1st 2nd gear its fine will boost steady at the same rate when the turbo kicks in say about 3000 rpm to when it comes out .. but in 3rd and 4th (not really tried in 5th would be going to fast) it will start to pull more and then slow down and then cut back in asif somethings stopping it been a steady pull all the way through the gear.

    Anyone have any clue?

havnt actually checked anything as of yet other than the oil being not upto full but its not low low.... that shouldnt do it though should it?

cars on 67 thou... but it doesnt smoke so i didnt really think the turbo was on the way out

    any help would be great

Couple of thing's can cause this, the main ones are the boost control solenoid's (mainly the front one) and the actuator.

First thing i'd change would be the front boost control solenoid, they're around £20 from a dealer.

Next move after that would be the actuator which costs around £40 for a VXR one from courtenay sport.
