    Removing centre console help needed

    Hi all,

I am going to be removing my centre console shortly to spray it as it currently has some scratches on it. I have managed to find a "how to" for the main centre console but cannot find anything on how to remove the piece below the handbrake. Does anyone know how to get this out. Also I want to spray the console the same as the cars paintwork. I am not entirely sure which exact silver it is? If it helps my car is a 2001 ACT.

    Regards

To get the handbrake piece out put your nails bertween it and the gear stick part and lever it up and toward the back of the car.

You can use a flat screwdriver but it might put a nik in the plastic.

Regarding paint code, look on the plate in the driver's door shut, your paint code is on there. There is a list of paint codes and what colours they are around here somewhere...

Once the CC (centre console) is removed.
Remove the ashtray (which is a pain!!!!)
then you are left with 3 bits of plastic
The first (which usually has aTC switch if your car ahs TC) just comes out easy enough
Next the gearstick surround. This also comes off easy enough, hard to describe but the gearstick gaitor is held on with metal clips from what i remember, you just have to kinda lift it over the gearstick
finally the lat little bit just pulls out.

Replace it in the reverse order
To be hoenst mate, once you've got the centre console and that ashtray out tis easy
