So after passing my test I was on the hunt for a car (duh) didn't want anything flash just something to get me from A to B and by chance really my mate comes up to me one morning at work and says "wanna buy me car mate" (he had just bought a GSI ) the timing could not have been better so I gladly accepted his offer and ended up with my first Astra. Its a 1.8 sport and I love it! Also not bad for a first motor.
In truth I've not done a great deal to the car myself, i've known the last two previous owners and they have done most of the work. Lucky for me eh
Mods so far are
Lowered 40mm rear and 30mm front on Spax Suspension
MVK 3 17" alloy wheels
Full powerflow stainless steel exhaust system
front bumper splitter and rear bumper lower skirt
Colour coded side skirts, bump strips and door handles
Irmscher cross hatch front Grille
Piper cross panel filter
Get the whole of my center console sprayed silver rather then just the middle section as it is as standard.
De-restrict air box and fit Vectra c inlet pipe.
NGK Iridium spark plugs maybe at next service but dont know if these will have any difference, if at all...
Then there are irritating little things like the vinyl on the drivers side armrest is worn so maybe replace the door card. The bolster on the drivers seat is worn/ripped. The horn button and steering wheel is worn so new wheel and airbag. The gear stick gator is also looking tatty. God! £££
That's really as far as I'd like to go with the car considering the age of the vehicle and mileage it has covered so don't think any serious mods such as remapping, uprated injectors, manifolds and the like would be cost effective, Shame as I like the car very much. But then I have plans to find and SRI-T when I can afford one and the insurance
