Astra g opc grill fitting (still not fitting, help)

I might be doing something stupid but i cant get mine to fit. The bonnet release isnt lining up correctly with the hole in the grill. Can anybody who has one let me know if this is a fault or not? Also the screw hole on the bonnet and the grill seem to be further apart than the standard grill so i dont think standard screws will fit.

Straight fit Pete. Had one on my car for years and never had a problem with it. Modding the bonnet release is a good idea with the grill though, look in the How-To section on how to do that.

Is it the same as this one?

You need to modify the release tab, as per the How-to.

Tab is only plastic and will bent easily to fit the grill. Once inside the grill opening it should stay there as it shouldn't retract enough for it to hit the back of the grill. Fit the grill around the tab and then fit the grill to the bonnet, should work fine then.
