Bought myself a wee astra van the other day as a non runner.
The guy I bought it from has fitted a new ecu(the one on the fuel pump). He says he just cant get it to start.
So far I can get it to nearly start, fuel getting to all cylinders, but doesnt seem to be enough, it just seems to be a bit lacking in fuel presssure.
The van has been sitting for a good while, so Iam charging the battery again fully, have checked all the pipes in and out the fuel pump up to the injectors and there is plenty diesel in them. although it may not be perfectly bled, it is full of diesel.
The fuel pump is clicking as I crank it, so there is definately power getting to it, and I checked the voltage off the connector coming form the plug that goes into the side of the fuel pump, most are reading 13.8 or thereabouts. There are a few which read lower, but im assuming these are reference voltages going back to the ecu in the wheelarch.
It seems to want to go, firing on 1 or 2 cylinders but not all 4.
Glowplugs are new.
Is there anything I have missed or should look at?
all the fuses seem to be fine.
Im a bit new to diesels (coming form the rover petrol turbo world!!)
As you can imagine, I have spent plenty time under a bonnett!!
Any help appreciated
