Anybody use LED bulbs in the OEM clusters?

Nearly finished tinting a spare set of rear lights tonight but when I shine a light through the back, it's not what I would class as bright enough for road use. I may have gone a bit OTT with the tint spray...

I'm quite sure that the standard bulbs aren't going to work safely once I get the clusters on, and have found these bulbs on the net...

Are they really that much brighter? Any brighter at all would be an advantage, but if anybody could clarify exactly how good they are I would be very grateful

altho they may indeed be brighter theyll probs cause other more important issues due to the low voltage etc

the brake lights in particular will no doubt come on when u dont need them and the 3rd brake light will now become a tail/stop light like the others

basically lots of gremilin like behaviour is to be expected when running LEDs in clusters not intended for them

    worth a gamble?? upto you!

Can anybody elaborate on this? I sort of understand why this might happen, but surely there's a way round it e.g. some other device you connect to the loom maybe? Hard to tell how dark the lights will be til tomorrow, is there not just a brighter version of the incandescent bulbs? I have searched for them but alas, I have found sod all.

i have converted all my indicators to LED's and personally they have been one of my favourite mods!

i bought the set at the top of the list supplied by autobulbs direct, they did not cause any problems with the 3rd brake light, but the difference between stop and tail brightness is marginal. Originally i took them back, but I think it could be due to the fact that because the bulbs are dual filament, they have to be in the right way.

Over the last couple of days I have been debating going back and buying them again to give them a second go, and the autobulbs outlet is only 15 mins drive from me
