    Garage issues...

I have left my Astra at a local garage to have the cambelt and water pump changed. The job is costing me £235 + VAT which isnt the cheapest quote I'd had but this mechanic has a reputation for being very thorough, clean and tidy.

I am p***** off now though as they have just called me and told me they are charging me an extra £70 for a camshaft sensor to be fitted because mine is perished or something.

Does this sound ok to you guys?

The car was running perfectly when I took it in...

    - Joe.

The wires for the camshaft sensor's on the 1.4's, 1.6's and 1.8's have a tendancy to perish and crack, leaving the bare wires most of the time.

I don't think £70 is unreasonable for a garage to supply and fit one.

Oh, removal of the cam cover is what crack's the wiring most of the time so it is unavoidable.
