    HELP- painting Morette headlights

    right I am going to be painting my headlights. I need to know the steps to do this. I am going to try and do it and if it don't look good ill just take it down the bodyshop get them to paint it.

    About 10 Philips screws are located round the edge of the painted covers. Undo these and they just come right off for paint.

    If I were you I'd also take this opportunity to inspect the mountings for the lenses on the inner casing at this point. Its very common for them to break away due to the weight of the lense and the leveller motor. The plastic used is far too thin for the job. Spread some Isopon in here then re-drill the hole and use a longer bolt to re-fit the lens.

    Otherwise the light beam will wobble and vibrate going over bumps which is annoying.

    The covers are small enough just to use Halfords rattle cans over. Just be sure to sand down nice and smooth, use plenty of primer (white for your car I'd guess) about 2 or 3 coats of colour and another 3 or 4 of lacquer.
