    frozen handbrake

    its snowing lol! but i needed the shops so i went for it,my tyres had no grip wat soever and it took me ages to move got halfway down the street and heard a creeking noise comming from the back wheels only to realise i had draged my back wheels half way down the street lol

    A nice tip is to park in 1st gear (or reverse if you're standing downhill) and leave the handbrake off

    It's a bit of corrugated shaped rubber on the hand brake cable that has moisture in it which gets frozen. Sorry can't think of any better words to explain

    Its a pain in the ass and its a common problem. Park in gear when you know its going to be cold.

    Didnt see this thread, guess it answers mine that other people have the same problem! only thing is I left my car in gear last night & the brakes seem to have still frozen up?!
