    recommend me an alarm

    hi
    need an alarm preferably cat-1, got a £300 quid budget max including fitting. any help much appreciated

    I would say for that sort of money go for a toad AI606 alarm, its cat 1. full closure, pager and some other things, interior sensors and stuff. Should include fitting to. Sweet alarm, had one on my old astra and never let me down.

    No need for a full Cat 1 alarm as the car has a thatham cat 2 immobiliser as standard so you'll only need to upgrade to cat 1

    do you?? i didnt know this i was looking to put an alarm in my car its a mk4 sxi on an 02 plate so i dont know if it has an imobiliser or not

    i had looked at putting one of these in but i wasnt sure if it was compatible

    Yeah all MK4's have a immobiliser as standard

    Just started fitting those alarms too, did one on a Transit a couple of weeks ago and it worked very well. Just remember for it to be thatham cat1 you have to get it fitted professionally or have your work up to scratch for someone to check it out after and write a certifiate out

    ok where would i have to take it to be checked over i take it a specialist alarm centre would have to do it? how much do you charge to install????

    Your local alarm specilist should do it yes, we check them out every so often abd charge £30 I believe

    I only really supply and fit alarms so I can offer a full warrenty on the alarm and fitting. The company I work for would be charging £250+VAT to supply and fit that alarm!
