My old astra used to do this just lived with it, if you find it a problem going into 2nd the shifting in either 1st or reverse whatever you need, seemed to work for me if you get really stuck. I noticed it in the cold weather, had all the linkages checked and clutch all seemed fine. I would personally get an oil change on the gearbox as well if you've done a fair few miles that made the world of difference for me. They can also check for any contamination in the oil when its emptied. As for prices I'm really not sure, believe its the labour that will cost you more than the parts.
    Kind Regards,

    Dean

both my astras have done it, my first one i just assumed the gearbox was on its way out so got shot of it (with great regret ) but with my current astra it did it from first to second, second to third plus it did what yours is doing.

as my transmision plate needed a new gasket i used that as an excuse to change the oil etc, although it still does it a little when cold or on start up its 100 times better. you wil find though that when you first start the car the gearbox wont be as lubricated as it would if its been running for 10 minutes or so, so give it a little timeto warm up a bit. also when changing the gearbox oil be sure to double check the cog for missing teeth
