Cheeky T**t... My stolen goods on ebay?!?

    Hi Guys

I am absolutley fuming at what i have just found on ebay!

Anyway, to start from the beginning....

I went out on an all dayer on Saturday at a pub in sheffield (about 5 mins from where i live) and i ended up leaving my brand new £100 designer jumper that i bought a few days before. I rang the pub as soon as i got into the house but they said they could not see it at the table we we stood at, so try and ring back in the morning.

I rang back in the morning but no joy, as they said nobody has handed it in .

Anyway, i thought i would have a look on ebay to see if i could find it and i have found the exact same top, same size, same colour, and listed as ''brand new but without tags''! Also, i have found other items listed by this user and he/she is based in Sheffield!

What would everyone reccomend i should do..??... bearing in mind i am in the process of applying to the police so violence is not an option! lol. Also, i have the tag from the jumper but i threw away the receipt!

Oh the temptation for 'Can I please collect this to save postage?' is rather large!

Let the Police know of the auction, they may well be able to trace him through eBay, though I don't know the legalities of 'found' goods like this one.

i know mate. which is why im asking for advice. lol.

If they are selling it as brand new then surely they would have a receipt... or tags? Also, if the CCTV matches up with this guy in Weatherspoons then surely they could mput 2 and 2 together... lol.

Ii know im grasping at straws... but i just hate it when people forget clothes and idiots do not hand them in. I understand Mobile Phones and PDA's and latops etc but clothes is just wrong in my opinion as they must have taken it before they even realised what it was.

Buy the Jumper through Ebay using paypal..Once it arrives check it over if it is yours open a dispute through paypal. Asking for a refund on the grounds that it was your jumper to begin with. Considering you both live in Sheffield, it would be a hell ova a coincedence to see that exact same jumper, colour size etc for sale in the space of a week.. Make sure you record the listing / auction start date. If you have proof of the original receipt you are likely to get a full refund and your jumper back. I doubt the scumbag would protest his innocence, unless the jumper was given or sold on to them..

Buy it. Pay for it. Get it.

Dispute the payment. Say it never arrived. You have proof it's yours because of your original receipt for the jumper (right?)

    You win. They loose.

Thats the kind of advice i needed. thanks! well, i just emailed him asking where abouts in Sheffield he lives as if it is the same area as the pub then i might do that.

By the way, i do not have a receipt myself but i do still have the tag etc.

Also, the listing began the day after my top was lost therefore i doubt it was sold on etc.
