im looking to get some lowering springs but not sure if i need the full kit (springs and dampers) or if i can just get the springs, and what the difference is between with/without dampers.

Koni do a set of -30mm springs I believe.

In my own opinion, lowered springs just don't work well with the OEM shocks, especially older shocks. The OEM shocks just can't cope with the increased stiffness of the lowered springs, and you're also making the OEM shocks work at positions they weren't designed to. Fitting uprated shocks and springs will, usually, give you a much better ride quality than springs alone.

Speak to Performance3000 via eBay, they had Jamex sets for ~£155, springs were the cheapest around too if I recall. Managed to blag mine for £55 delivered in a sale at toys4cars.co.uk
