    1.8 Bore Size

Just a quick one. I am pretty sure the exhaust on my car has a bore of 2inches which is 50mm.

    Car is 1998 1.8 16V MK4 X18XE1.

Reason I ask is I am going to buy this sports cat.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Universal-200-...item518f0905bc

I assume this sports cat will be ok for my car? Local powerflow place has quoted me £40 to cut the old one out and weld this one in, works out much cheaper than the £250 they quoted me to supply and fit one .

    Thanks

I think it's 2", the turbo engines have a 2.5" diameter as standard if memory serves...

1.8 should be 2" so you should be fine

fairly sure the 1.4/1.6 are 1.75"
    1.8/2.0/2.2 are 2.00"
    2.0T are 2.25"

Ordered my new backbox today so hoping that along with this sports cat should free up a couple more ponies

I would love an extra 6BHp to bring me up to 130bhp but I dount this will happen, more than likely I will get 2-3BHP and a much smoother power delivery but every BHP matters, especially when I will be adding a lot of weight to my car soon so want to try and keep as much performance as possible.
