    High Idle Z20LET

After putting my car back together, off the road for about 7 weeks, the car is idling at 1500 RPM all the time.

It was fine before and all I have changed is the intercooler and pipework and had the battery off to charge it.

    Any ideas???

Good idea, I will have a look tommorrow.

I will be surprised if it is because it is boosting correctly and driving well but def worth a try, cheers!!!

High idle is caused by a number of thing's, 95% of the time tho it's caused by a leak after the throttle, check your vacuum pipes and also check the 'o'ring between the throttle and inlet manifold.

I drove the car today without looking at it and the first 3-4 miles it was running really badly, only just staying running and idle fluctuating from 500-1000 rpm.

Then after the 3-4 miles it started running like a dream and didnt miss a beat. So very confused now!!!!

Mine does the same if I do a remap on it. Idle is crap and all over the place, normally takes less than a mile though and it sorts it self out.

my old car done this, use to spend long periods parked up, just needed driving.

i always suspected it was something to do with the engine and exhaust system / catalic convertor needing to be bought correctly up to temp, and a good drive to blow the fluids round the engine that has sat for weeks at a time.
