play in turrets after fitting coilovers

ive realised that since fitting my coilovers there has been some play between the turrets and the topmounts, theres a few mm gap between them, even with the top nut fully tightened.

However, I have noticed there is another nut underneath which held the coilovers together after assembling them, should I have removed this?

I hope that makes sense, it should do to anyone whos fitted them, if not Ill get some photos.

    Thanks

    everything sounds correct to me

are we talking "play" or just a gap between the 2 components?

Theres a gap there, the top mounts move about of the steering is turned (bonnet open turning the wheel), this may be normal and ive just never noticed but I want to be sure.

Theres no play apart from this?

    Thanks for your reply mate

Tends to happen once you lower the car and fit non-OEM shocks/coilovers.
