My wife's car came back from the garage after having a new alternator fitted and even though they said all was well, the rev counter refuses to go above zero. The alternator seems to be working OK though.
Where does the rev counter get its input from - in other words, where does the end of the cable end up at the crank end ? I had a look last night but there's so much in the way I couldn't see the wood for the trees. It's a mk3 Astra 1.7TD (Isuzu engine).
