    New alloys, your thoughts?

    Hi guys,

    I recently bought a 2001 MK4 Astra LS 1.7DTI

At the mo its only got the standard steel wheels with trims and want new alloys. Saw these on Halfords and thought they look pretty nice!

    What does everyone else think?

to be fair i drove an escort with ripspeed alloys on it, and there is no grip at all in them, and that was in the dry. Also the alloys are really quite soft and would buckle very easily if they were kerbed etc.

You probably wont beat the price with new tyres but you get what you pay for, and even if you wouldnt get the use out of really grippy tyres, if someone pulls out infront of you, you need all the grip you can get some tyres are hoplessly dangerous.

I wouldnt buy them personally. In the flesh those wheels look very poor IMO. As said above, the quality of the tyres is aweful and we have had loads of buckled sets back from potholes but you get what you pay for. For that price you could get a nice set of wheels 2nd hand that would look much better than those ones
It would definitely go better with an engine in it
