    Just my luck lol

Car broke down last night, stopped at traffic lights and it just died, would attempt to turn over but wouldnt catch...

rac managed to get it started by unplugging the ignition module and then plugging it in again... The cooling fan kept running at low speed after the ignition was turned off (engine was cold by this point) and the carbon canister/solenoid thing kept ticking...

got it back home eventually and got these codes...

p1613 - Immobiliser No. / Signal wrong... (hence why it sometimes doesnt start?)
P0179 - Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit High Input
P1612 - Immobiliser No Or Wrong Signal Immobiliser

Could this just be a dodgy connection in the ignition module?

    Hi Mate,

Im having the same problem but i my car sometimes starts and then sometimes doesnt start. I got this electrician to take a look and he told me that its more than likely the CIM Module (think it controls the immob and signal going to the engine). Anyways im giong to get the CIM fixed or replaced but hoping it works because i have read alot of forums and its a common fault with Astra H models.

Decided after this problem im going to sell my car as too many people have been quoting me too much, also called the Vaux helpline to complain about the problem and all they said was they can only go what the vaux dealer says. Guess all cars with have problems but the car is only 4 years old and ive only had it for 1.5 years.

    What??

My 1.8 did over 180k and never once cleaned the throttle body, never had any issues with it stalling either.

Engine was still spot on when it came out the car, only reason it came out was to fit the Z20LET.
