Hi Guys, i'm looking to buy a DA machine polisher...
I know there are a few threads on this as i've spent a long time searching, but i'm looking for some advice specifically for me.
From my searches i've decided to go for the DAS-6 as quite a few people have said it's a good starter kit and very similar to the Meguiars G220 but cheaper.
I also noticed on CYC that these are also on sale at the moment which is a bonus. I notice quite a few people on here like the DAS-6 Meguiars Kit. The only thing that concers me about this is that you only get two products, a polish and a glaze, but 3 types of pads. Whereas the others (e.g. Sonus) come with 3 products. Why do you get two products/three pads with the Meguiars kit? What product do you use with what pad? I assume that with the sonus kit each product has a different pad to use. I also saw that the Menzerna kit comes with 6 pads, but read that this kit is hard to work with for beginners. What's the advantage of having 2 pads for each stage?
Also with this Meguiars kit, it comes with 7" pads as oppose to 6" pads with the other kits, why is this? Does it make much difference?
What are backing plates? I notice you can get different sized versions, what are the pro's and con's of different sizes?
Would it be a good idea to get a smaller pad (4") for the sharper parts of the bodywork and headlights? Would this need a smaller backing plate for the smaller pad?
Are any other products needed on top of just buying a kit? Additional pads/backing plates/products etc? If so, what's recomended?
That's all i can think of for now, thanks for reading that essay lol. And thanks in advance for any advice/recommendations/opinions!
