Removed the aircon, and now my fan is on CONSTANTLY!

As some of you may have read, i've removed my aircon. This means there's a loose plug coming from the fan ECU behind the bumper. I started my engine for the first time today since removing the radiator etc and then fan is going constantly now and the rad warning lamp is on.

Is this something you have programmed out or do I have to live with it?

    Cheers

You could maybe wire in a resistor or something. Its from the fan not being there it leaves an open loop on the circuit

ah right, so if i bridge it out like you would when removing an airbag, that might work?

That ECU is for the cooling fan as well as the AC

I guess rewiring the fan with a aftermarket thermostate in the top hose is the answer, it's how we did Pete's V8

    Say what now?

It has been suggested to try an ECU from a non ac model to see if that works, any ideas?
