Really sluggish on start up...(when cold)

This week (well Yesterday actually) my car just didn't want to go anywhere below 3000 revs, its really wierd almost like no air getting to the engine or something

It was the same today, This morning and tonight.... really worrying, never had it before

No engine lights on or anything

The only thing I've done different is fill up with Tesco super unleaded but this was over a week ago and only got 1/4 tank left

    Any ideas??

Does it sort itself out after a while? Is it on every startup or just when it's been sat for a long time (i.e. 1st thing in the morning)?

When i had sluggish issues on 1st startup, i took the throttle body off, gave it a damn good cleaning, fitted it back & the problem disappeared.

That was a good few month ago now.

It does sort itself out after a while yea but it does it every time I start it, almost stalls on start up as well...

I checked the throttle body about 6 weeks ago and it was as clean as a whistle but I'll check it again on monday, Cheers

i had thisw problem and was told the car was going into limp mode for some reason, so all i did was disconnected the battery for half hour to reset the system and has been fine ever since, dont forget to tape your windows when trying this though as they do drop alittle

I also had the problem when the throttle body APPEARED clean.

That's when i took it off the car to clean it fully. Clean the hoses, clean the plastic intake. Clean as much of the intake manifold rim as i could get the cloth round.

Re-fitted everything & the problem was gone. Soit looked clean, but it mustn't have been.

ok thanks for the insight into that guys i'll give both a bash tomorrow,

It was really bad again tonight, dint even get better as it warmed up (well....)

It was like I had a turbo though because as soon as i got to 3k revs it just took off

the temperature guage hasnt actually moved at all, its like totally lifeless, as in its in the same position wen the ignition is off as it is when I've been driving 10 minutes

    Any more ideas?

    Yeah, thermostat.

Had that problem when i first bought the car. New thermostat which apparently has the sensor with it, cured the problem.
