    Question headgasket maybe?

basically i got home earlier and my z16xe was idling like a bag of nails almost stalling etc, also when i drive it it occasionally coughs when at low RPM, say if i was to drive about 3 miles stopping and starting it will do it around 4 or 5 times ish, ive got an EGR fault code P0400 but my mate says these symtoms could be a headgasket

    help would be great thanks

faulty egr will cause your symptoms, especially if it is stuck open, hence the fault code

Yeah definately EGR for this, my old corsa 1.6 16v did it. Try giving it a thrashing (you've probably already done that though lol).

Its common for them to stick open. You can try removing it, cleaning it and also start the car up with it removed as this will help get the carbon crap out of the EGR ports
