    2.8 VXR conversion

A mate has been given a 1.7DTi hatch and hes read about the normal 2.0T conversion but he wants to drop a vectra vxr 2.8 in it (uts a mk4 hatch) now hes asked me to get some info and im lost lol thers not a lot about on the net for these things so i thought i would ask the best place possible

How much is the 2.8T engine rough guess?
    Is it possible?
    How much to do it?
can you keep the 6 speed box?
    how much work?
Also will it be eay to service?

    I think thats it!

    thanks guys

Its not a straight forward fit, dont think there is enough room but maybe with a lot off cutting and welding you could get it in there but cost would be alot

It will fit the problem will be the wiring, the easy and quick way will be standalone managment. Trying to get the canbus ECU to work in a mk4 is going to be very difficult indeed.

    Cheaper to setup
    easyer

Stand alone ECU runs the engine not every thing
so it dose a better job then the factory Ecu
