    help with switches.

I am making my own custom centre console, and i want to replace my traction control button with a nice brushed alumimium one like this. .

    http://www.rapidonline.com/Electroni...switches/81479

At the moment if you push the standard TC switch the traction control is turned off but if you turn the car off then back on again the traction control will be on.

Will this still happen with this switch? or do i have to get a special switch?

    Cheers, Tom.

    Yep

In the technical specs it looks like the switch can be wired up for either

Switches actually come as either momentary or latched, different part numbers for each type e.g. Blue Momentary=78-1865, Blue Latched=78-1868

Right on these switches i have the 2 terminals for whatever your using the switch for.

Then there is another two terminals for the light within the switch, + and -,
i was going to use the 12v power supply from the cig lighter but it doesnt work. As there is only one wire.

What do i connect them to?

    Sorry iv worded that poorly.

What iv done is replaced the standard TC switch with another illuminated one which has 4 terminals, the standard one only has 3 terminals.
I can get the new switch to turn the traction control off but it does not illuminate, do i just need to earth it?

Also im planning on running an lcd screen, satnav and 2 illuminated switches off the ignition from the cig lighter. Is this okay? or am i trying to do too much?

    Cheers.

Yeah just bridge the earth over on the switch so it lights up

All of those items will be fine off the ciggy lighter
