    3 points for loose battery?

Hi, my brother has just been fined 60 pound and given 3 points for his battery been loose, and the police said if he contests it he could loose his license? Is this true? Can you really get points for a loose battery or should he fight this? thanks Dean

Yes you can get points for it, also you can get them for having no water in your washer bottle

really? mines often empty guess i should fill it up! surely you would need to be drivin like a tit for them to start checking these things.

having said that the battery being loose and no water in washer bottle are mot failures so i cant see how you can appeal against either

Surely he can't lose his license if he appeals against it?

Its an appeal, thats why there is a system in place for it. Its not a game of double or nothing!

He won't lose it. Its outrageous that they would even threaten that.

I'm not saying he would win the appeal, but if he lost all that will stand is the fine and 3 points.

if he flips the car and petrol spills then the battery touches the bonnet is potential for fire.
my mate had a caution for it before but that was all.
